I’m not sure where to begin when providing a reference for Cole Boren and his team at HomeBridge Financial Services. After living as a lease tenant in a home for several months in 2013 and 2014, we decided we would like to purchase the home if the option was available. We experienced the full brunt of the real estate and economic downturn that began in 2008 and felt like our chances were slim. After eventually managing through a short sale and thinking we wouldn’t be eligible for home ownership for several years to come, we heard of a program that we might qualify for.
A friend recommended a mortgage lender who claimed they could get us a loan – even giving us a fully underwritten approval. We were shocked and excited when we got that news. Sadly, as it turned out, that lender got ahead of themselves and at the very last minute, told us the formerly promised underwritten approval was rescinded, our loan was now unavailable (after paying earnest money), and we nearly lost the contract on the house.
That’s when I was introduced to Cole by the same friend. I won’t say that Cole was able to wave a magic wand and get the loan we were hoping for approved and closed overnight – that wasn’t the hallmark of his work. What made Cole truly stand out to me was that he took an extremely complicated loan approval and made a long shot a reality. Just when I was on my very last nerve with the sellers and their agent, Cole turned it on and managed a very difficult seller contingent and got the deal done. When we needed Cole to go to bat, he did. And he carried a big stick when he needed to.
I would hope that no one would have to deal with the difficult circumstances that led us to Cole. But, I would hope that anyone would seek him out to experience what committed customer service is all about. Cole, in my opinion, pulled a rabbit out of a hat for us and put us back on the path of home ownership and stability we had been searching almost six years to find.
Thanks, Cole!
