During this time of uncertainty, several of our Mortgage Loan Originators have offered aid to their communities in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. Homebridge’s Aiea location and other Hawaii branches partnered up with Med4OurWorld, a nonprofit dedicated to providing easy access to healthcare worldwide.

On Wednesday April 8th, Homebridge delivered 100 meals to The Queen’s Medical Center, followed up with meals to other Hawaii health centers as the weeks went on.

The more donations we raise, the more shifts we can cover and the more hospitals we can help,” says Keri Shepherd. “If you have been wanting to do something to help but haven’t found a way yet, this is a tax-deductible donation and 100% of the funds will go toward meals at Hawaii’s local hospitals. By purchasing meals with us, you will help fuel the extraordinary efforts of our health care workers while also supporting our local food service companies and their employees.

The meals are made by Loan Originator Charisse Freitas’ family business Reecie B’s Onolicious Local Food; which features an eclectic mix of Hawaiian, Filipino, and Puerto Rican food along with other local favorites such as poke bowls and nachos.

As a final note, Keri Shepherd encourages everyone to get involved in their own way: “Most of us have a lot more ‘free’ time on our hands, it doesn’t have to be a monetary donation,” Shepherd said. “It can be your time, words of encouragement, hand-written notes, a cup of coffee, a homemade meal that you drop off, some freshly baked cookies, or thoughtful, specific prayers for someone. Let’s stop talking and thinking about doing something good, let’s start doing.

Many kudos to our Hawaii associates for helping offer some relief to their local community.
